about

Recorded at Big Skin Studio, the base for the band's label operations, Vitreous is the new album by O Emperor from Waterford, Ireland.
A striking directness permeates the record, though not quite in the sense of a pop record being direct; more like a sort of robotic sincerity, as if a machine were successfully programmed to understand human emotion and the results are streamlined, direct and orderly (though blurred and pixelated by the missing pieces of a realistic grasp of humanity).
While the critically acclaimed debut Hither Thither could be described as a lush tapestry displaying a classical use of depth and shading, Vitreous presents the listener with a starker, polychrome and pixelated picture.
