"In Hearing Taste" ist Thos Henleys Debüt - ein erstes homogenes Album mit 11 Stücken, einem Intro und einem Outro. Aufgenommen und produziert wurde es im Poptones Studio, Paris, von Jean-Charles Versari. Das Album ist dabei grundverschieden von seinen bisherigen Singles und EPs, die auf "A Collection Of Early Recordings" (2011) zusammengetragen sind. Ein Teil dieser Stücke war traditionell anmutender britischer Kammerpop, ein anderer Teil raue unbehauene Folksongs von Unterwegs. Das Debütalbum dagegen fasst Popmusik wie präzise modellierte Skulpturen, ist beinahe mathematisch in seinen Strukturen, modern und transparent in seiner Produktion, ohne je seine Seele zu verlieren. Dazu steckt zu viel Persönlichkeit in diesen Liedern und zu viel Talent in dem süchtig machenden, verschlungenen Refrain des Titeltracks, den herrlichen Streicher-Arrangements von "High And Mighty", der Wucht, die "The Royal Road" allein aus Stimme, akustischer Gitarre und einigen Tupfern Orgel und Bass entwickelt, und hundert weiteren Details...

English:
"In Hearing Taste" is Thos Henleys debut – a first homogeneous album of 11 songs, an intro and an outro. It was recorded and produced at Poptones Studio, Paris, by Jean-Charles Versari. Thos Henley is accountable for its arrangements and the majority of instruments played on it, while mixing and mastering took place in his absence. The album is entirely different from his previous singles and EP’s which have been assembled on "A Collection Of Early Recordings" (2011). A part of these songs was traditional British chamber pop, another part was raw and undressed folk songs from on the road. On his debut album, he approaches pop music like painstakingly crafted sculptures. It appears almost mathematical in its structures, modern and transparent in its production, without ever losing its soul. There is too much personality in these songs and too much talent in the addicting, entwined refrain of the title track, the marvelous string arrangements of “High & Mighty”, and the momentum which “The Royal Road” develops from only voice, guitar and a few dabs of organ and bass. One could list a hundred further details…
