„Ich brauch nich viel, um glücklich zu sein.“ – „ach“, das verspätete, bockige Debüt von Joachim Zimmermann alias daantje & the golden handwerk erzählt in 11 wachen Songs vom Scheitern, vom selbstbestimmten Verzicht, vom Sich-Ausklinken und von der großen, mittellosen Liebe. 11 Songs, die seit 2007 schon in diversen ruppigen LoFi-Versionen durchs Netz geisterten und nun endlich von Gunnar Ennen (u.a. Gitarrist bei Gisbert zu Knyphausen) im Gänsefleisch Studio Enger neu arrangiert und mit nahezu der kompletten zu Knyphausen-Band neu aufgenommen wurden. Der spröde Charme der Originalaufnahmen ist trotz wummsenden Gitarren, Geige, Vibraphon oder polternden Bässen gottlob geblieben, und so nölt und keucht sich Daantje mit seiner ihm eigenen, schnörkellosen Sprache immer noch durch das Wetter, die Feuerwehr und zwei Tüten Glück und es klingt manchmal so atemlos, als wäre der Musiker gerade erst von einem rasenden Pöbel mit dem Stock durchs Dorf getrieben worden.

The strive of German LoFi-artist daantje & the golden handwerk is one for an essence in both musical and lyrical expression. These songs are bare-boned and raw, at times humorous contemplations on how little he truly needs in life. By no means a career, instead his loved one and the sea, music, music, and an occasional drink at the bar. Many of them have circled the web on compilations before, earning him the reputation of a cranky minimalist with maximal results. “Ach” is his first studio effort, backed, recorded and tenderly arranged by members of German songwriter-giant Gisbert zu Knyphausen’s band. Daantje’s delivery on the other hand is panting, breathless and hoarse - an urgent call for slower living.
